How do I check to see if a program is already installed?

You can check to see if a program is already installed as follows:
  •   Start
  •   Settings -- Control Panel
  •   Add or Remove Programs
If a program is installed, it should appear in the list.

How to check a program version level

A program's version level is typically listed on the About panel. Start the program and go to Help--About.

    Installing Pre-req Software

  • Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0  - This is a free download [about 22 Megabytes] from Microsoft. Search for ".NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)".

    If you have the .Net Framework 1.1 installed, you should NOT uninstall it. It is not required by our software, but other programs on your computer may be require version 1.1.

  • Microsoft Windows Installer 3.0 or 3.1  - This is a free download required to run the program installer .msi file. (except for Windows 98/ME, which require Windows Installer 2.0 or later).


Users without broadband may want request a CD from Microsoft or have a friend download the "Redistributable" package and copy it to a memory stick.
