The File menu (File menu)
has the following functions.
The Playlist file extension is '.M3U' and is a standard M3U multimedia playlist format. The program should be able to open M3U playlists from any other program.
Menu items
New Playlist - Creates a new empty Playlist.
Open M3U Playlist - Opens a saved Playlist (M3U) file.
Import Audio Files or Playlists - Adds audio files (mp3, wmv, etc) or Playlists (M3U) to the current playlist (via multi-selection file dialog). Use Shift key to select a range of files, use Ctrl key to multi-select.
Save - Current Playlist is saved to a file (standard M3U file). If this is the first time the Playlist is being saved, you will be prompted for the filename, otherwise there is no prompt. Also see note below regarding M3U file metadata.
Save As - Same as Save but a File Save dialog is always popped up to save as a different file name.
Recent Files - Lists the 10 most recently opened Playlists or Audio files. Select one to open it.
Clear Recent Files List - Clears all files from the Recent Files List.
'Open M3U Playlist' or open via 'Recent Files' menu will replace all existing Playlist items.
Drag/Drop one or multiple audio files (mp3, wav, wvm, etc) or an M3U Playlist from any file manager (ex. Windows File Explorer) will Add To the existing audio list (not replace the current list).
Save will save items to a very simple M3U playlist. If you opened a 3rd party generated playlist, no metadata is preserved (lines that begin with hash symbol (#). If you want to preserve the original file, use Save-As instead and specify a different file name.
