Projecting on to a TV Screen
Basics
You can project the Game Displays on a TV screen for audience viewing at home or tournament venues. The Controller would be operated and viewable on the computer display (ex. laptop screen) and the game displays can be positioned to display on the TV screen (or other video display system).
Some software allows you to connect to a video system (or TV) via the VGA connector and move the game displays onto the TV screen.
Another approach is to use a computer with a TV-Out connector on the graphics card adapter (usually an SVideo connector or other Video connectors ). Many laptop computers have an SVideo connector on the back panel. Connect the computer TV-Out to the TV Video-In connector. Start your graphics card software and enable the TV as a secondary display. There will likely be an option similar to
Enable Stretch Main Screen Horizontally (option name will vary based on graphics card manufacturer). This option extends your Windows desktop across both your computer and TV -- effectively both displays make up the right and left side of the Windows desktop. Start the program and drag the Game Display window to the TV display. The Controller can be viewed and operated from the computer display screen while the Game Display is displayed on the TV. Use the
View--Zoom Game Display Size menu item to resize the Game Display for best fit on the TV screen.
See your computer graphics adapter documentation for specific details on how to use a TV in this mode.
Take advantage of the
auto sizing and
auto positioning functions under the View menu for locating the Game Displays on the TV screen.
Finding a card
Many graphics card adapter manufacturers make cards with TV-Out connectors.
ATI Technologies Inc. is one manufacturer with cards that support the screen stretch mode described above. Try
