Sound Item Descriptors
Each Sound Item has the following
Descriptors
attributes.
Setting Descriptors

Name - Each Sound Item has a Name which defaults to the file name of the audio file when loaded. It is best to keep it short but there is no character limit. Name is used to identify each Sound Item in the Sound List panel.

Description - This allows you to add comments or instructions for the sound engineer who is operating the sound console (ex. "Cue when Tom opens the door"). This can be multiple lines of information. The Edit button (
). pops up a multi-line text editor.Hold the mouse pointer over this field to see the full text. It it can also be included when printing out the sound plot report.

Sound filename - This is the file name and folder path of the audio file. Click the Browse button (
). to add or change to another audio file. See Tools -- Repair moved files to auto repair this field if you move audio files to another folder location.

Sound time - The time duration of the sound is displayed next to the audio file name (format mm:ss.t, minutes: seconds: tenths-sec. , example 01:25.9 ). You can display or truncate the tenths digit as desired -- See Tools -- Options dialog.
Text editing tip: The Copy, Paste and Cut toolbar buttons apply to Sound Item editing. However, you can use the standard
Windows keyboard short cuts to Copy and Paste text into the
Name and
Description fields.
